Democrat Gun Control pushes US proliferation to All Time High

By Mark Wachtler

March 7, 2014. Hartford, CT. (ONN) Most gun owners are thanking President Obama for reigniting America’s love of firearms again. Production and sales of guns in the US have broken all time records yet again, a regular occurrence since the election of President Obama. But the true cause isn’t one man in Washington. It’s a coordinated effort by local Democratic officials from California to New York and a dozen states in between.

In California, millions of tax dollars have been spent to send police door to door to confiscate firearms. In New York, notices have been sent to millions of citizens that own firearms capable of holding more than 5 bullets telling them to either surrender their guns or leave the city. In Connecticut, new laws forced gun owners to register their weapons, magazines and bullets - only 4% of the state’s gun owners obeyed. The fact is, there’s an assault on the 2nd Amendment like never before in US history. And the result has been a record spike in firearm manufacturing and sales in America.

ATF confirms record US firearm production

It probably shouldn’t be any surprise that firearm manufacturing and sales are at an all time high right now. Smith and Wesson stock has risen over 800% since Barack Obama’s election in 2008. In the same period, Sturm Ruger stock has skyrocketed over 1,500% from $5.91 per share on November 28, 2008 to $80.55 per share on January 10, 2014. The data shows that somebody is purchasing a lot of firearms. According to an annual report from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms released two weeks ago, it’s the American people.

The chart accompanying this article clearly shows that sales of Sturm Ruger firearms has doubled each year President Obama was elected, 2008 and 2012. It also shows that sales never went back down. Instead, each year builds on the year before and gun sales and ownership in the US continue to break records under Democratic Party leadership.

The ATF’s annual report confirms fact that by showing that gun sales in the US rose 30% from 2011 to 2012, the latest year the agency has data for. It also illustrates that as many firearms made their way into the hands of the American people in President Obama’s first four years as did during President George W. Bush’s entire eight year term. Gun owners say it’s the fear of Democrat and Obama sponsored gun control measures that have spurred the rush to arm themselves while it’s still legal to do so.

Gun industry thanks President Obama

Throughout 2013, gun owners were pleasantly surprised to see that America’s response to the progressive media campaign to reign in firearms after the 2012 Newtown school shooting was to loosen firearm restrictions, not tighten them as gun control advocates passionately demanded. In towns, counties and states across the country, one jurisdiction after another passed laws expanding and encouraging gun ownership.

“Barack Obama is the stimulus package for the firearms industry,” Dave Workman, Sr. Editor of Gun Mag at the 2nd Amendment Foundation was quoted by Bloomberg News saying after the ATF report was released, “The greatest irony of the Obama administration is that the one industry that he may not have really liked to see healthy has become the healthiest industry in the United States.” The account also quotes Brian Malte of the gun control Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. Malte desperately grasps the already disproven statistic that less American families own guns now, not more.

“We see the percentage of households owning guns declining,” he told the publication, “and that indicates that those who already own guns are buying more of them.” That would be true if American gun owners weren’t terrified of their own government and lying to survey takers, refusing to register themselves or their guns, and keeping their firearms off the government’s radar as much as possible. Mandatory registrations in Connecticut over the past few months clearly suggest that roughly 96% of gun owners there have gone underground.

As long as Democrats continue to limit or eliminate gun ownership in America, firearm manufacturers will continue to supply the ever-increasing demand. And companies like Sturm Ruger are already looking forward to the 2014 mid-term elections with eager anticipation. CEO Michael Fifer told stockholders on a recent earnings call, “I’m sure the politicians will go at it on both sides and they’ll talk about guns and that’ll spur gun sales again.”
